Sophos XG 17.5.16 to 18.0.6 Upgrade - interesting problem

Hi;

I have XG 310 devices working active-passive HA.

There are too many RED devices, hundreds of rules and hundreds of address, MACs on this device.

This devices are very critical for me and my company.

For a long time, devices have been working with version SFOS 17.5.16 MR-16-Build830 without any problems.

I want to update the build on devices to version 18.

I prepared a test environment to make this process seamless.

I re-imaged version SFOS 17.5.16 MR-16-Build830 on an xg 310 device and restored the configuration on the working HA devices. I have successfully performed the restore process as it can work on a single device without HA structure.

Up to this point everything is as it should be. The same configuration has been transferred to the same OS without any problems and it works.(RED devices, IPSECs everything.)

After this step, I planned to gradually update to SFOS 18.0.6 MR-6-Build655 first and then SFOS 18.5.2 MR2-Build380 if there is no problem.

- As a first step, I started an update from version SFOS 17.5.16 MR-16-Build830 to SFOS 18.0.6 MR-6-Build655

-The update completed without any problems and the device turned on

-However, after updating the device from version SFOS 17.5.16 MR-16-Build830 to version SFOS 18.0.6 MR-6-Build655, it lost its configuration and booted with factory settings. The device gave me the ip from the 172.16.16.0/24 block and I connected to the device at 172.16.16.16. But the device admin password was the same. I did not boot the device with the factory default configuration while updating OS.

-If I start the device with version SFOS 17.5.16 MR-16-Build830, the configuration comes up.

I don't know how to switch from SFOS 17.5.16 MR-16-Build830 to the latest version without any problems. There are too many configurations on the device and I need to keep this configuration.

There are over 30 RED devices and I don't want to set up such a large configuration from scratch.

Any ideas on what I can do?
