Apply time quota for a specific category

Hello guys!

As per the subject, I want to implement a time quota of 90 minutes per day for games for my kids computers.

To elaborate a bit, I have a Kids policy created. There are some allowed categories there, some others are blocked. The policy works as expected. The Games category is set to allow. I want this category to set it to quota and allow it for 90 minutes per day. I am using no users in the policy, just the kids machines (which are defined as hosts and get the same reserved IP)

Is this possible?

Can you point me to a related article? The ones I found are mentioning how to apply surfing quotas to users which I don't want and even if I had users it would not work I believe, as I need a quota just for a specific web category, not for the internet in general

Thanks a lot

  • Replying to myself here..

Seems there is a pattern that when you can't find something, you finally find it after you ask for help... Stuck out tongue

I believe this is what I need..

    Sorry for that.

    Cheers!

  • I actually played a bit with this in order to make it work (I had to use web proxy instead of DPI but seemed to work quite well afterwards.)

I was specifically testing with roblox and seemed to behave as it should. However when my kids wanted to enter roblox, after clicking the play icon which starts a game, the game was failing to load with an error message that sslverification fail. Error message below

I had to either disable the whole web policy or add an exception to skip the policy for roblox only. But both beat the purpose of the policy..Well the second beats the policy purpose only for roblox, but they mostly use roblox, so.. No matter what I tried I couldn't make it work. I tried to find a clue using log viewer. I used one of my kids machines IP as source IP,  but everything shows as allowed. So no clue as to where something gets blocked by the policy Disappointed

    Has anyone had this problem?

  • Guys, a question..

As mentioned, I set to allow games category for 1 hour per day.

However, when I have the option to use the web proxy instead of the DPI it correctly shows the quota notification and the option to select how many minutes to use.

If I don't have the option checked and DPI is being used, the quota notification does not show, only the block notification.

    Have I done something wrong?

    Any ideas please???

  • I believe this is the wrong place for this specific question.

I am going to open a different threat just for the DPI issue
