"Internal Server Error"

Hello,

I have two sophos xg210s configured in HA and have been running for about 3 years without any issues. Suddenly after updating to SFOS version 18.5.1 MR-1-Build326, I have a problem every day of "Internal Server Error" in the browser page when I try to connect to the Web GUI. I also can't connect remotely with the vpn client (SSL VPN). It's strange but the traffic flow from Lan to wan is working fine, IPSEC Site to Site VPN rules are working fine too.

I physically intervene to restart the two sophos. the problem is solved, but after two or three days I still encounter the same error.

Please help me to solve this problem.

  • Hi Redouane Elkhalyly

This issue is getting observed if "Refreshing the packet capture page with wrap buffer on"  over GUI packet capture. This is known to Sophos team with ID NC-64984

Request to share the output of tomcat.log

Login to SSH > 4. Device Console > 5. Device Management

    # tail -f /log/tomcat.log

In another SSH session, run the command to restart tomcat service.

    # service tomcat:restart -ds nosync

Without restarting the appliance, TOMCAT service ( GUI service) restart will fix the issue.

    TOMCAT service restart command:

For Single device ( or Non HA setup):

    #service tomcat:restart -ds nosync

    If device in HA

    #service tomcat:restart -ds sync

    Thanks and Regards
