DHCP requests not transmitted on Bridge interface with VLAN interface

Hello,

DHCP request packets doesn't seem to be transmited throught bridge interface. I created a bridge with 2 ports : 1 classic physical port and 1 VLAN port on an interface.

DHCP server is in the LAN connected to the classic physical port (on this LAN client get address from DHCP server corrrectly). Equipements connected on the VLAN can't get DHCP IP Address (if we put fixed IP addess, traffic is working correctly, only DHCP request seems to be blocked over the bridge).

Any idea ?

Thanks in advance. Regards

  • Hi,

a good test. Please advise xg software version and have you tried 'allow relay' ticked in the DHCP server?

  • Hi,

Thanks for your answer but I'm not using the Sophos XGS  DHCP Server and the configuration I want to setup, it's a simple level 2 bridge   simply transmiting transparently DHCP request (and response) broadcast between 2 XGS bridged Ethernet ports (like a simple L2 switch implementation with VLANs). In this cas, DHCP exchanges are not relayed but only broadcasted I think ?

    Thanks a lot. Regards
