DNS request route sub-domains

onward

Is there a way to make a dns request route apply to all sub-domains? 

Example: dns request route for domain.com would also apply to sub.domain.com and sub.sub.domain.com

    when testing in sfos 18.5 mr2 dns records in sub-domains don't seem to resolve, only dns records in the base "domain.com"

    Hi,

    unresolved  FQDNs are from experience the result of NO traffic requesting the information, so it never gets updated.

    i did a test with same SFOS for internal domain with dns request route, added a new sub domain and an other sub domain in that like

    sub2.sub1.internal.com

    create A record host.sub2.sub1.internal.com and a CNAME name.sub2.sub1.internal.com=host.sub2.sub1.internal.com

    have a dns req. route for internal.com to internal dns server

    the XG does resolve both fine.

    of course this works!

    I just tested this with XGS 18.2 MR2 down to host1.subsub.subdomain.domain.com.

    Your DNS request route needs to have the entry for domain.com only.

    I noticed, that it needs some time for the internal DNS to synchronize the new subdomains to all DNS-servers in our network.

    So maybe you need to wait a little before testing.

    Your responses are correct - when retesting the next day the dns records are all resolving.  This was a large internal zone with many sub-domains which may or may not matter.  Thanks
