Bypass stateful firewall on a Sophos XG

Hey all,

So bit of noob Q here, I had to put in a few entries into the

set advanced-firewall bypass-stateful-firewall-config (To certain hosts and from certain hosts to a network ect)

My question is is this by passing the entire FW with no IPs even if its in the FW rule ? 

This cant be the safest way to keep it . 

In essence this was for a voip server that with out these added the calls would drop and become slow for the gui.

what have you tried to get the VoIP service working before applying the bypass?

Hi,

its a XG 3200, V18

The voip works but to get to the Gui for the call center seems to have a very long load time.

Unless we enter the bypass, the only thing that seems to make it slow is by adding a Web filter policy or scan for malware on http and https.

If we turn those off then it sort of works but slightly slow, only with the bypass it works properly .
