How to access a IP address with a specific Src and Dst port

Hello,

I found on my network something that's looks like a router (Dst IP 192.168.1.255), but I would like to discover what's exactly this. I tried to access it by the simple way of putting its own IP on my safari browser. But it didn't works. And on Sophos the client (represented by the Src IP) has all of his logs allowed to this Dst IP (192.168.1.255). What should I do?

Thanks!

  • IP x.x.x.255 is a broadcast IP (send to all devices within this subnet). TCP 1688 is used by Microsoft KMS (and possible other services)

May be, a Windows PC try to find the KMS-Service.

Broadcasts would not be logged by default (possible changeable)

  • No, it dind't works on Windows Google Chrome, neither.

I'm sorry for the ignorance, but I'm trying to access putting 192.168.1.255:1688 on the browser. Is that correct? The Src port doesn't affect the connexion?
