how to export a list of default categories that can be blocked by Sophos?

The XG allows you to add/export either local files, for Categories, on .tar .gz .bz. bz2 and .txt or use of external URL databases.

I think they're asking if they can go to Web > Categories to see the categories list -- which spans several pages -- and export that so that they could have a summary to send to someone else or to have as a reference. For example, maybe their boss wants to know what kinds of things can be excluded. But the Web > Categories page has no such option. Same for Web > User Activities.

So is there somewhere where this can be exported as an entire list?

Hello, Yeah, exactly you are right. is there any way to do this? I searched google and checked the my XG firewall but couldn't find anything.

I haven't found it. From emmosophos' reply I imagine there's a way to export a configuration of some sort and then maybe do some munging to extract the categories, but it doesn't appear there's any explicit menu item to do what you're asking for.

You could, worst-case, take screen shots of each page. I think there are only 4 each for Categories and User Activities. If you're using a Mac, the latest Preview lets you copy text from images of text, and I imagine OneNote and its competitors allow the same.

Got it, thank you for the clarification! Re-reading the post it was clear what Eunseok wanted. 

You can go to System >> Backup & Administration >> Import Export >> Export >> Export selective configuration >> WebFilterCategory >> Export

This would export an .XML file with the default existing categories, and any categories you might have created.
