Sophos XG Dyndns Strato

Hi,

I just try to migrate our UTM to XG, at UTM "DYNDNS STRAO AG." is support, not in XG.

We use a subdomain of our Strato registered domain as public domain for our public servers, so there is zero alternative to the support of Strato as DYNDNS server, how to get this defined in XG?

Just one more feedback, it's nonsense, that UTM supports Let's Encrypt and XG not, why do you make it so difficult to switch from UTM to XG?

Thanks

Henri

  • Hello Henri04,

The XG supports several third-party DDNS but at the moment Strato is not one of them.

Currently, we support the following third-party DDNS providers:

    • DynDNS
    • DynAccess
    • EasyDNS
    • ZoneEdit
    • Google DDNS
    • Namecheap
    • DNS-O-Matic
    • No-IP
    • FreeDNS
    • Cloudflare

You can take a look at this DDNS for more information.

  • Hi Bharat,

this is not possible, as I said, we use a subdomain of our Strato registered main domain for our public servers.

It not possible to transfer a subdomain to an other DYNDNS provider!

    Thanks

    Henri

  • Hi Henri04,

  • Just one more word, we use DYNDNS, because we have two different ISPs, the WAF is accessible via two routers (HA) with VRRP and this two mentioned ISPs. If line or ISPs fails, the WAF is switched the the other ISP and the public IPs are turned via DYNDNS.

    Henri

  • No, this is a common security restriction and it is nonsense to raise such a requirement to save a few hour effort to support a generic DYNDNS approach, sorry.

    Thanks

    Henri
