I recently started looking at Sophos Firewalls. For this I would like to install the SFOS (V19 EAP) on a Hyper-V in our laboratory. The basic procedure is known to me and is not a problem. I am only unsure about the following aspects:
Hyper-V Generation
Is VM-Generation 2 now also supported in Version 19 of SFOS?
Installation-Media
I don't understand the point of the Installation-Media for Hypervisors (Hyper-V/VMware/KVM). Why are there these next to the ISO for Software-Installation? What is the specific benefit of Hypervisor-Media?
Disk-Management
If I use the Hypervisor-Media then two Disks (Primary/Aux) are used. However, only one Disk is used when using the Software-Installer. What's the background here?
Ressources
The documentation warns against assigning more CPU-Cores than are covered by the license. In the case of RAM, however, it is not described that the system goes into Fail-Safe in the event of overbooking. I have an license (NFR) for 4 Cores and 6GB of RAM. Could I allocate 8GB of RAM too?
I hope you can help me, as I haven't found anything specific about this in the documentation.
