External URL database -Web policy

Hi Everyone

I want to use create a custom Category pointing to an external URL database. The category seems to work fine is the numbers of records is relative small (I've tried <200). Does anyone know what the max record limit for external URL database is. The one I am trying to load is 185563 entries which includes Newly registered domains.

Unfortunately combining existing categories such as "none" and "newly registered websites"  still doesn't cover all NRD which is why I am using that list Slight smile

Thanks

  • I performed some testing so I split the external list to two files based on number of lines.I then created two custom categories using URL external links and the results are below

The first file  (*.csv) that has 100000 entries (includes new registered domains starting from  "0" to "SE" ) was able to fully load successfully and I can block all of the domains (randomly checked few of them)

Second file (*.csv) (~38000 lines) was added to another category and it included the rest of the domains from the initial list starting from  "SE" to "zz". I am able to successfully block almost half of the list.  The rest of the domains either go through with no block or identified as category "none".

It therefore can't be the number on the number of entries per file as the file that failed to completely block the URL had less entries. Any hints?
