Good Day:
This is something very specialized. We are moving to the ESINet (Emergency Services Network) for our 911 system connectivity. This is based on NENA (National Emergency Number Association) i3 standards.
A vendor has been selected for the state-wide (in my case Illinois) ESINet. There is an option for a customer provided firewall between the ESInet and our local call processing system. The ESINet will include the actual 911 voice calls, as well as text-to 911, and eventually video. Also location information, addresses, GIS data, etc.
Has anyone implemented similar? What did you use for the firewall system?
Our cutover date will probably be Summer 2022.
Thanks,
John S.
