Sophos Email Gateway delivery to XG hiccup this morning?

This morning around 7:50 our XG started logging: system "Failed to send firewall information from device to CM" and around this time the XG stopped receiving and delivering e-mail from and to Sophos Email Gateway. 

And log: 

SYSTEM 2021-11-22 08:48:13 Up2Date Failed Failed to check for updates

SYSTEM 2021-11-22 10:52:04 ATP Successful ATP definitions upgraded from 1.0.0387 to 1.0.0388.

SYSTEM 2021-11-22 10:53:12 Anti-Virus Successful Avira AV definitions upgraded from 1.0.418001 to 1.0.418024.

SYSTEM 2021-11-22 10:53:35 Anti-Virus Successful Sophos AV definitions upgraded from 1.0.17292 to 1.0.17298.

The connection to CM has been restored and is no longer logged.

We are not sure what caused it or what solved it around 10:20.   The partner has fiddled around with the inbound e-mail rule but basicly these are still the same.

The outbound rule has not been changed.

Have other noticed a hiccup around this time? It was only smtp traffic. SSL VPN, Proxy, RED, etcetera worked normal.
