XG Home with APX120

Question

Hi All, 
 
 for our home I&acute;m looking for a WIFI and Router solution and won&acute;t give UNIFY a go. 
 
 AFAIK the XG Home can be used at home for free including all features. Does this also include the management of Access Points like APX120. 
 
 If so, what Sophos hardware would you recommend to install the XG image to, also considering updates of the home edition?

You can actually simply purchase the APX and manage them via Central. Its about the Management and this is possible in Central without any license. 
 You start a trial in Central and after expiration of the 30 days, you can still manage APX and Firewalls in your account for free. 
 So purchase a firewall, which suits your performance requirements or build a own appliance with custom hardware. 
 The Hardware of Sophos is not suitable for Home license, therefore you need to "wipe the disk" to install a software installation of the firewall on the hardware. You could also check out custom build hardware on amazon, if those are more suitable for you. 
 Afterwards the APX will be managed via Central and give the traffic directly to the firewall. The firewall does not care, if the APX is managed in Central or on the firewall.
