Sopho xg and utm additional interface

Did you mean to add an Alias interface on the XG's interface? (Configure an IP Alias)

With UTM the interfaces that aren’t configured will show up as 'Add Interface'. With XG all the physical interfaces will be visible under the Interfaces section.

I'm new to Sophos Xg and is alias the same as virtual IP? And could you guide me on how to create internal server loadbalancing on Xg?

My requirement,

I have two database server : DB01 and DB02

I want to loadBalancing this two server.

If our client reaches virtual ip address, it will loadbalance one of the backend database server. I cannot find options of creating virtual ip and server loadbalancing settings on xg. I can make all these step on sopho UTM Firewall.

Hi,

to create an alias, go network -> interfaces -> add interface -> select add alias.

Load balancing, I suggest you do a search of the KBAs.

Actually Load balancing, like on UTM, was never implemented into SFOS. Simply because this feature is rarely used. 

Most application can do this by themself or have a LB feature implemented. 

Do you think my above requirement can meet/configure on sopho xg?

No, You should think about a actual load balancer and not do this on a network level. You could try to use WAF, but it will only work for HTTP/S. 

I so wonder about why xg cannnot do that. UTM also made it by itself.

UTM got features, which were some sort of workarounds for certain deployments. There is actually not that high demand on such tools, which indicates, most customer do not require a network based load balancer with basic features.
