Unblocking files

Since i am downloading lots of different files, perusable from different categories (.lha .rar, .exe, .d81 ) etc, i thought the best way to deal with this was just to add an ;'exception' in Sophos XG under "Web"

Basically, its Amiga manuals and such

However it's not working... I am using wget tool to download this site:

https://retro-commodore.eu/files/downloads/

so i've created an exception  retro-commodore.eu to the list , but only HTML files are downloaded.. Nothing else...   I've also tried "Scanning decrypted HTTP" turned ON and OFF. and nothing

at the command live i pass -no-certifucate-check as i always do.

  • Hi : If you open the same URL over HTTPS from the web browser of the same machine from where you are doing WGET and if you are getting original cert issuer in certificate details that means your exception works for scanning properly.

You may capture TCPDUMP, Drop, PCAP on XG on the website server IP to validate it further and to narrow down the situation based on the observation of collected logs - If this helps you to get more clues on this.

  • Actually its Windows 10...; I switch to Windows 7 and no problem what-so-ever

It also begs the reason why i never saw this before, because i was doing it under Windows 7.. Perfectly understand  "why" because Microsoft is stuffing is more restrictions, and wget would be one on the priority list.

It's not due to the site, because i tried wget via other domains and same thing: only HTML downloaded, tried with both with and without Sophos....  The problem went away when i did in on Windows 7,
