XG wireless client traffic VLAN confusion

I have connected my APX120 to the XG and created a new  wireless network, basically same as the default sophos. Bridge to AP LAN.

Now I want to add another network with its own subnet, that will have access to my LAN on Port3.

So I created a vlan connected to Port3, and I am having trouble saving the new wireless network as bridged to vlan.

Can I not mix these networks on the same AP?  Does the AP VLAN ID need to be unique?

My goal is to create a network with dhcp for general internet access use....   and another network, static, that will have a rule to access to my secure PCI network on Port3.

Thanks in advance to the Community!

  • If the APX is managed by Firewalls (UTM/SFOS), once you start with VLAN, everything has to be VLAN (All SSIDs, the Management traffic of the APX etc.).

If you move to Central as a management platform, there you can combine VLAN and bridge to LAN.

  • I am using Central.. Before I create several vlans, I'm looking back at the Separate Zone option... that had initially scared me away because of the MTU issue in the documentation. And it says to lower MTU but does not give an acceptable value... I wonder if that would be a problem if the clients were left at default mtu's....?   not a high traffic situation.
