XG Log Viewer Application Filter Tab Always Empty

Hi,

I have an XG125w (and before that am XG106) with SFOS 18.5.1 MR-1-Build326.  When I go to the log viewer, Application Filter tab, the log is empty,  It has always been empty, even with the XG106.  I checked my firewall rules and they are all set to 'Allow All' in the 'Identify and control applications (App control) section.'

Is this how the Log Viewer is supposed to work, or am I missing something?

thanks,

Brian

  • Application Filter in Logviewer will not log "allowed" apps, as Allowed is the default and we are not logging default. From my point of view, logging the allowed apps would flood the app log filter. The default parameter is allowing, and if you explicit deny a app, it will be logged as dropped.

Every connection on SFOS is a app (or will considered as a app). Therefore it would actually "copy paste" the firewall log viewer. You can simply go to firewall, add the app filter:

Then you will see the apps in each and every application and what happened.
