Configuring remote XGS 116

I am configuring a remote XGS 116 via Sophos Connect at the moment, primarily with the aim of setting up VPN connections.

I have configured both IPsec and SSL VPN modes and have successfully connected to IPsec. I can't test SSL yet as I need to login to the user portal to download the OVPN file.

As I don't have physical access to the router I don't have access to the admin portal (apart from via Sophos Connect) and user portal. The device is still configured with the default 172.16.16.16 IP address but I can't access this over the VPN.

The existing local network uses 192.168.1.* addresses, the SSL VPN 192.168.2.* and the IPsec VPN 192.168.3.* on 255.255.255.0 subnet.

Is there any way to configure routing to access 172.16.16.16 and https:/.../172.16.16.16:4444 over the VPN with our current IP configuration, or do we need to change the IP address of the UTM into the 192.168.*.* range?

    Hey Alan,

You should be able to access the firewall's Admin portal and the user portal on the 172.16.16.16 IP as long as it’s added in the shared networks. Make sure that the SSL VPN and HTTPS is enabled for VPN zone in the device access.
