Schedule monthly XG/XGS firmware updates?

I just finished updating all of the XG and XGS firewalls for our clients. We are an MSP with about 197 XG/XGS firewalls to manage. I am thankful I can update them now via Sophos Central, but it still takes a little while since I go one by one. We have each customer as their own monthly account, so I can't group them all in one large group and schedule all at once.

Along the way during the updates I thought I saw a screen somewhere that I can schedule a check for new firewall firmware and then to install it if there is new firewall firmware. Am I losing my mind, or does that option/screen actually exist somewhere?

I know I can go to Firewall Management then Firewalls to schedule an update from that screen. This is what I do now. I thought for sure I stumbled across another screen to schedule the checking for new firewall firmware and installing it. Maybe I am remembering incorrectly?

  • It did not make it into the first Partner Management cycle. 
    But the next cycle will focus on the API of Firewall management. Which means, you can trigger via command the firewall update as a partner via API.

  • We do not use the API.

    Does the option to schedule firewall firmware upgrade checks and installs exist somewhere?

    Or am I not remembering this correctly?

  • As a MSP Partner, you should look into API for automation. It makes your life in any terms simpler. 

    No the option is only in the Central Admin of the customer.

  • Where in the Central Admin of the customer?

    When I am logged in to Sophos Central Partner, I can launch Sophos Central Admin for any of our clients.

  • You need a Firewall Group in Central.Admin. I am not talking about Central Partner, instead the customer Central Admin.

  • I logged in as the client to Central Admin. Where is the option to schedule firmware checks and upgrades?

    I know I can go to Firewall Management>Firewalls, then if an update is available, schedule it from there. But I think I saw a screen recently to automate/schedule this entire process from somewhere else?
