Customize Sophos User Portal SFOS v18

I've search about this for a bit and everything I find is years old. Does anyone know if the Sophos User Portal can be customized in any way? It would be neat to change colors, and perhaps use a favicon at a minimum. The idea didn't come to me until I noticed "favicon" in the .scx connection profile. I put a valid http path to a known favicon, but I don't know where that applies or shows? Somewhere in the Sophos Connect Client? Don't see it. Oddly, when I search the entire user manual for the firewall, the word "favicon" is not found.

  • Just a formal question: Why do you use the User Portal in the first place. Most customer i know use it for the VPN Client download - Thats it. And as Sophos Connect can fetch the config nowadays, the user portal did not get much Attention anymore from users. (Beside Email Quarantine).

  • I realize it's just for getting the VPN client, OTP token, and resetting VPN password. I was just curious if it is in any way customizable. Like I said, the "favicon" section in the .scx file is what made me wonder (which I can't find any documentation on what favicon is for). I don't know what you mean about Sophos fetching the config though.

  • There is no customization at all for the user portal.

If I remember correctly, the favicon at the provisioning file is to change the one which is present directly at the client. (At the left side of the connection name)* I can be wrong.

  • Well, we use it for VPN client/config, OTP tokens, clientless VPN for vendors or in a pinch.  It's pretty atrocious and being able to customize would be ideal.  At least get it on par with UTM with capability to turn features on/off.

And Sophos Connect fetching the config has been a nightmare for us.  Users being prompted to sign in multiple times (once to get in portal and one more time to get in VPN).  Not to mention Mac users...

  • Can  you elaborate on how to get the SC client to get the config automatically? Right now I have users importing their own OVPN files because the Windows file isn't even compatible with the SC client...
