Sophos rule and policies Issue

Hi,

I am trying to understand what the issue is?

You would apply this to a firewall rule or series of firewall rules where you have identified the users you want to block.

Yes, in this screen when I selected a specific date range to run the policy it seems that timing field has no appropriate parameter for me to select (Mon, Tue.....) for the policy to run during the above start/End date. 

Beside, Start/End date has its own timing range but the following timing field also has its own range. I got no idea on both field and which one should be used.

Since the second timing is a compulsory fields as well

So towards this screen , how to define a schedule date range like 1/9/21 by 00:00 to 23:59 to run the policy ?

Hi,

you can choose any start and end date for the policy to be applied, then you add the days you wan the policy to be applied with the time range. 

Basically, the start and end date allow you to set a range for this policy and then the timing allows you to set specific dates and  times with in the date range you have chosen. You change the time by editing your start and end dates.

Just want to confirm the for "One Time", we just only need to set Start/End date with its own time and no need to care about the next timing field?

For "Recurring" , just only need to set the last row of timing field ?

you will need to leave the default value otherwise it will not be applied.

I guess this is a  bug from Sophos , since there are 2 options , "Recurring" and "One Time", When we select the recurring , we just only need to enter value inside "Timing" , but when we choose "One Time" , except the start/End date setting , we still need to enter value under "Timing *" field. In fact , this "Timing *" field is not necessary and will  cause issue if working together with the start/End date setting.

I don't think it a bug because if you apply one time you need to be able to set when the one time starts and finishes egg starts at 1700 finishes at 2130.

I mean we either need 1 of following :

Recurring --> 2

One Time --> 1

Correct, but you can ignore the second setting when using one time setting. I would leave it at default.
