V19 EAP rumoured for October 2021

Good news. I will participate on the EAP.  

Do you an XGs or an older model?

As a home user I use the XG software version. In our company we still use the UTM. But I guess we will migrate to XG in the next two years when my colleague is in retirement.

Any hints about approximate release date?

A number of comments in other threads about v19 coming shortly, they were over a week ango. Any updates?

V19.0 is a bigger release, therefore it takes some times to work on the Q/A and other processes, which can delay the release. As i mentioned earlier, the best way is to observe the release notes section (RSS Feed) for news.

thank you for the link. Something goes astray with the new Apple OS and screen placement.

The document looks like a very good marketing document, but is very short on details about adding missing functionality etc.

what adding missing functionality do you mean?
As part of the solution of one customer project, the Sophos GES team confirmed to us that one absolutely critical function of NGFW is not implemented in the current version SFOS and very probably is not implemented in v19 either. But even so, SFOS is still positioned as an NGFW.

IPv6 functionality, like FQDNs and FQDN groups and the ability to use them in IPv6 rules.
