Set static route in XG210 VLAN

Why does the XG210, for the purposes of configuring a static route, require a different Gateway IP address from the VLAN Interface IP address?

Trying to get my head around to understanding this static routing thingy on the XG210.

    Hi ,

A static route is added when there’s a requirement of forwarding packets to a destination other than the configured default gateway.

Gateway address in the configuration of static route is the next-hop address(maybe a router or L3 switch).

To route the traffic directly to the VLAN interface, add a static route with the required destination IP & VLAN interface and leave the gateway address blank.
