Sophos XG firewall seems to be blocking push notifications from Firebase Cloud Messaging...

We are doing some mobile app development involving Google’s Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM); we’ve noticed that inbound push notifications aren’t coming through and I am suspecting they are getting blocked by our Sophos XG firewall. I’ve read where ports 8253 and 5228 need to be opened up, but I don’t know much more than that. I am looking for suggestions on how best to accommodate my developers.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there, Thanks for reaching out to Sophos Community.

You can create a DNAT rule in the firewall (Port Forwarding Rule) to forward inbound traffic from internet on specific ports to the server in the Firewall's LAN.
