mDNS within Bridge Interfaces

Hello, I have XG (SFOS 18.0.5 MR-5-Build586) running with Sophos AP.

I am trying to get mDNS/AirPlay/AirPrint to work across the wired and wireless networks but it isn't working correctly. Connections aren't stable and repeatedly fail to see devices on the other networks. (devices on the 5 ghz band sometimes fail to see the wired and 2.4ghz band devices)

The AP has a single SSID on both 2.4 and 5 bands. This is Bridged to the AP LAN which then goes to Port2 on the XG

My wired network goes to a switch, which then is on Port1 on the XG

Everything goes to a single DHCP server also on the XG

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Stefan - by any chance did you turn on/enable Multicast forwarding?  I use apple devices (don't judge me!) at home and turned this on and have no issues.

In the Webadmin --> Routing --> Static Routing, scroll down and check mark and save the option "Enable Multicast forwarding".  By default it is off or not enabled.
