XGS Virtualised Option

Hey guys

We have recently moved our Physical XG450 into a Data Centre as we have gone private Cloud.

Working well and doing basic Web Filtering, IPS, etc - no email, web servers etc.

Now its in a DC I would like to Virtualize it for the many benefits in backup and restore and no need for the physical device.

I am struggling to work out what sort of vCPU / vRAM I may need now its an XGS and Virtual. I do have Sophos working on it but looking for real world data.

Currently I have about 250 active users and 150 Devices (MFDs, iOS Devices etc) on it and SSL Scanning is enabled.  No TLS yet.

Any guidance or advice would be fantastic.

Cheers

  • Hi M8ey,

I would suggest you use the XG450 as a starting point. You are aware that you will loose performance moving to a VM from an Sophos hardware appliance?
