Leased Internet Configuration

Hello Friends,

Please help me in configuring Internet with following details in Sophos XG v18. Thanks in advance.

WAN IP
172.24.15.93
172.24.15.94
255.255.255.252

LAN POOL
117.245.137.8/29

    this information is somewhat misleading.
    I think "LAN POOL 117.245.137.8/29" is your public available address?
    "WAN IP - 172.24.15.93 - 172.24.15.94 - 255.255.255.252" is from an private Address-range. Where you have this addresses located? Do you have a IPS-router between XG and internet?
    Which help do you need?

    Thanks for your reply Dirkkotte.

    I applied an internet for my office to the ISP. The ISP provided me following details to configure my internet in my router. I know how to configure WAN interface with PPPOE & Static IP. Please help me. You can provide any KB link for this.

     Yes, In my locality “117.245.137.8/29” is a public IP

    LAN POOL 117.245.137.8/29

    WAN IP - 172.24.15.93 - 172.24.15.94 - 255.255.255.252

    Hi,

    you should put your router in bridge mode and use the 117 IP range as you WAN address. The /29 is too small to use internally and you would normally use the 172 internally.

    Hi Rajesh, 

    Adding on what Dirk and Ian said, Configure the IP 172.24.15.X on your WAN interface with the respective gateway. Add LAN IPs that are 117.245.X.X /29 as Alias IP addresses on the same WAN interface. 

    There is one cache though, You'll have to manually MASQ the specific Public IPs (117.245.X.X) for the outgoing traffic via a NAT rule. 

    Based on my observation, few ISPs in India require you to configure a private IP range on the WAN interface and use the public IPs either on sub interface or any other devices in LAN :)
