XG 18.5 Change DHCP Option 60 and 61 for WAN / ISP Connection

Hello,

i need to change the DHCP Option 60, 61and 12 that a Router/Firewall or a FritzBox sends to the ISP Modem.

My ISP Modem is analyzing the Option 60/61 and locks the Device to this MAC/Vendor option.

So if i switch from FritzBox to Sophos XG i need to wait more than 60 minutes for a relase of the DHCP IP Lease.

So ...

I need to fake the Data, that XG sends to the ISP/DHCP Server.

Who can i set these parameters in a XG 18.5.0 environment?

Option: (60) Vendor class identifier
Length: 19
Vendor class identifier: AVM DHCPC v9.04.395

Option: (61) Client identifier
Length: 15
IAID: 6d5d23b5
DUID Type: link-layer address (3)
Hardware type: Ethernet (1)
Link layer address: 44:4e:6d:5d:23:b5

Option: (12) Host Name
Length: 9
Host Name: fritz.box

Thanks

Jürgen

  • DHCP Options are transmitted by the Server to the Client. You can only configure, what SFOS sends as a server. Íf the modem is the DHCP server or the ISP is the server, you have no chance to change this.

  • Hi LuCar Tonie,
i think it was not clear...

The XG has a WAN Port and can be used with DHCP for the ISP.
So i define PortE2 for WAN, set DHCP and the Firewall get´s it´s IP from the ISP Server/Modem whatever device is connect at the WAN Port.

And during the handshake the XG send the DHCP Discover to the Broadcast Domain.

And here the XG sends DHCP Option 12, 60 and 61.

Can i modify the Data that XG sends to ISP?
