Sophos Virtual Appliance Configuration

Hi,

I have network as 172.16.2.0 and I have installed Sophos Virtual Appliance in my PC in VMWare Workstation. Now as I have gone through the same, I am confused since I want to configure one of my network IP in Port A i.e. 172.16.2.138.

Since I am confused so can u guide me as what would be virtual ISP links i.e. WAN and which would be LAN.....

My thinking was that I will configure Port A & B as WAN with 172.16.2.138 & 139/24 with VMWare Network settings as Bridge and

Port C as ? and what VMWare network settings will be.

Also can I add extra ports from VMWare to Sophos. ?

I want to imitate same Sophos XG hardware appliance I have in this Virtual Appliance. Kindly advise.

  • The VM setting network setting should all be in passthrough so the XG only sees the KAN on the other side.

The WAN port is which ever you choose to connect t your ISPs modem and the other ports would be LAN or DMZ or second WAN port. The 172.16.16.0 is the default LAN network.

Perhaps you would be to provide a network drawing of what you are trying to achieve?
