Interface status showing red on control center

Hi,

We use sophos XG home edition firewall, WAN interface showing red every few hours on control centre, we ware read post on sophos community as per community said we have configured WAN Link Manager and configure a Failover Rules but no luck, Failover rules screen shot as below.

 

After the showing interface red our port forwarding working stop, and we need to restart firewall after restart firewall port interface showing green and port forwarding working fine 

We are able to ping of the firewall WAN gateway during it is showing red.

How to resolved such issue we need to restart firewall every few hours.

  • Hi,

    using DNS as a ping destination is not reliable, you should use your ISP gateway. You do not need to restart the firewall, just edit the WAN interface without  making changes and save it.

  • Currently issue is getting so we have edit the WAN interface and save it without any changes but gateway showing red, then i restart the firewall

    We check ping of gateway IP from the firewall it is not reachable but out-of firewall it is reachable what is the issue?

  • Check you XG hardware that it is not overheating or you have loose cables. Check your modem to make sure it is not over heating.
