XG Firewall Home Edition not able to complete licensing

Hi all,

I recently installed Sophos XG Firewall Home Edition, and had trouble during initial setup. The device indicated it had activated successfully, but on the next page it gave me the following error:

As such, registration continues to be incomplete and the licensing will not sync.

The serial listed is listed with an associated license in MySophos.

An examination of the licensing.log provides the following clues...

Looking at the logs, I see the initial activation (with a different deviceId), and then it fails during the CSR

After this, it tries to generate the CSR again, but with a _different_ device ID, the one that is now listed on the console as shown above. This is probably from when I attempted again to complete the registration after the first time failed

What can I do to resolve this issue and get my unit to sync? Since it's already activated according to MySophos, I'd hate to have to request a new serial and try to re-register AGAIN, especially since this unit is my only way to connect to the Internet right now.

    please edit your post to remove your serial number. Then check the time on your XG.

  • It does appear the system date/time was skewed by about 4-5 minutes, I've updated that. At this point should I wait to see if it will sync, or try to re-do the registration? I have tried to do the full re-registration process before but it says I already have a trial license (which I do since it activated and shows in MySophos), but would this have changed the device ID? If the device ID has changed and doesn't change back, can I 'de-register' the device in MySophos and then re-register it for Home Edition to correct the device ID mismatch?
