Recovering from a failure of a Sophos XG firewall on Azure

SFOS has the option to restore from a configuration backup. However, is this the right way to recover from a failure on an Azure XG firewall? What's the best practice way to recover from a complete failure of a Sophos XG on Azure? Can you snapshot the whole appliance somehow, if so how do you do it? Can't find any guides online saying how to bounce back from a total failure where it just seems dead in the water.
