sophos xg home port configuration for internet connection

Hi all

im struggling with my sophos XG Home that is installed on a Fanless bare bone pc with 4 NICs.
My Principal goal is to set my router in Bridge Mode, herefor my ISP is sending me a Fritzbox because the standart router dont support this mode.

Anyway, waiting till then i wanted to play around my brand new Firewall, so i connected the Router with the Firewall, firewall Port config: LAN.
Now i wanted to connect a Laptop to a second port on the Firewall that is configured as WAN - the problem is i dont receive any internet connection Disappointed

As im new in the Firewall World i just need help Slight smile

Thank you in advance guys!

  • Hello Chicho,

Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community.

As Derek mentioned, it seems like your Zones are incorrect, Port1 is set to LAN but you’re connecting to your Router, this zone should be WAN, and the Port2 that you’re using for your Laptops is on the WAN Zone, this zone should be LAN. So either you can connect the Port2 of the XG to your router and your Laptop to Port 1.
