Sophos XG when switch connected to LAN interface no Internet

Hello. We have an issue with our Sophos XG.

Is connected as follows

ISP Router  172.16.0.1  DHCP Enabled-> Sophos XG WAN 200.20.02.3 LAN 172.16.0.1 -> to a single laptop. Internet works

ISP Router  172.16.0.1 DHCP Enabled -> Sophos XG WAN 200.20.02.3 LAN 172.16.0.1 ->  Switch 172.16.0.100 No internet.

The switch has no vlans or routing at all.

I am confused on why it works with a laptop connected to LAN but not when the switch is connected to LAN.. any ideas?  Thanks!

  • Correct, the ISP router is doing the NATed segment.
we have tested sophos with DHCP on and off. it has NAT rule configured.  Same results on both scenarios

the strange thing is why on laptop it works ok and when connected to the switch it no longer gives internet.

Should the ISP Router be on bridge mode so the UTM can be in charge of everything?  Thanks!
