Traffic Shaping settings configuration

We have an XG 750, and we recently upgraded our bandwidth on 1 of 2 of our ISP lines.  Previously, we had 2 distinct 500Mbps lines.  Now we have 1 500Mbps line, and 1 other 1Gbps line.  Underneath "System Services > Traffic Shaping Settings", what number should we place?  I was told once that we don't total the bandwidth together directly, but rather we need to leave 15 - 20% overhead for some reason.

Can anyone shed some light on this and calculate what number we should place in the "Total available WAN bandwidth" setting? Thank you for all your help.

    Hi

Thank you for reaching out to Sophos Community.

'Total available WAN bandwidth' is a sum of the maximum limits for all available WAN links(in KB/s).

    1 500Mbps line, and 1 other 1Gbps line

    500 Mbps = 62500 KB/s

    1 Gbps = 125000 KB/s

So, you can set available bandwidth as 187500 KB/s or higher(between 187500 to 2560000).
