  • Hello Madni,

Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community.

You would configure the same way as if it were dynamic IP, the RED device is the one that contacts the XG.

Just make sure your ISP opened ports 3400 & 3410 outbound.

You can confirm by trying to telnet from a computer to the following address

    "telnet red.astaro.com 3400"

  • Hi Emmanuel,

    thanks for your reply.

if my ISP is giving me static live ip, i just configure that in head office XG and plug the cable of ISP in RED then it will get connected without any issue??

This will be true if i am relocating RED from my one branch (where there is different ISP) to 2nd branch.

    regards,

  • Hello Madni,

In the XG you tell the RED what IP/FQDN (Resolvable on the internet) you want the RED to connect to.

So for example lets say your XG has a Public IP of 100.100.100.100 it would not matter if today the Public IP of your RED is 1.1.1.1 and tomorrow you change it to another location and gets a Public IP of 2.2.2.2 the RED will always know that the XG lives is on 100.100.100.100.

    Regrads,
