Sophos XG AD User as Administrator

Hy!

I have successfully connected the XG 18 to my domain. The users and groups are read out correctly. The SSL VPN and the user portal also work with all users. Now I wanted to upgrade certain users to SuperAdmins (Sophos Admins). I have set the Administrator option with the correct group in the User on the Sophos. Unfortunately, these users can still only log in to the VPN user portal but not to the admin portal. If I manually create a user on the firewall with the same settings, it works. Please help.

    Hi ,

Thank you for reaching out to Sophos Community.

XG fetches the user information from the AD along with his group association. So if the OU has the same group name as XG and AD, then the user will fall under the associated group. If XG doesn't have a group imported then the user will fall under the default group configured.

As XG supports tight integration, when you add AD users to the local(XG) administrator group they'll be reverted back to the original associated AD group after the next successful authentication attempt.

I'd suggest changing the user group directly on AD.
