hi everybody ... i have a lot of trouble to start the engine with xg 18 mb1 396...

different people wrote some solution .. so i have tried ... nut there is no solution for me: for example:

Solution:

1) Install SFOS - check and done

2) Boot from USB Flash Ubuntu Live 18.04  ... so i started from debian live ... but check ..

3) Open terminal and write:

   sudo apt install grub-efi-amd64-bin
   sudo mount /dev/sda1 /boot
   sudo mkdir /boot/efi
   sudo mount /dev/sda2 /boot/efi
   sudo grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/efi/

4) reboot reboot and nothing...

i dont unterstand

i there a other possibility to get xg home start ? otherwise i have to buy a new hardware without uefi ...

in my opinion, maybe is sophos not so good - if they cant boot from eufi setup from a hp elitedesk ... only on their own hardware ... or old hardware

where is the failure in my opinion ?

Tanks for every comment...

  • Hi,

you need to understand that the home user licence is free and comes as it is which does not boot to UEFI based BIOS. You need to change the bios setting or install the disk to another device and then move it to the preferred hardware.

Sophos at this stage use none UEFI hardware and until that equipment is no longer available Sophos does not see a need to change.

Secondly what NICs are you using? A home device will more than likely have an i219 which not supported.
