How to prevent logging of Appliance Access 255.255.255.255 messages?

Whenever I check the log viewer, it is full of messages like Appliance Access 255.255.255.255 denied. I understand that is access to 255.255.255.255 is blocked by design.

I recently created a syslog server and sending XG logs to it. The logs are full of these messages. Several thousand of these messages are generated everyday. If 255.255.255.255 is blocked by design and there is no way to allow access to it, why log thousands of these messages? Any way to trim down sending of these to syslog server?

Thanks,

Arun

  • Hello ArunGupta,

Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community.

Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to Skip logging of Broadcast traffic, you can disable all types of traffic but not for a specific type of traffic.

I will check with PM if there are plans to add an option to disable broadcast traffic from logs.

    Regards,
