  • For kicks and giggles, after deleting XG off my server 12 months ago, I thought I'd give it a try last night.

It lasted maybe two hours, and I went back to UTM.  There were no giggles, and could have been a lot of kicks against the rack.

The interface just flat out makes zero sense and feels like I am all over the place, not to mention it appears to me that you have Any - Any rules on by default.

I spent more time trying to look for the most common things to configure and it was like being lost in the forest.

    Just my feedback.

    XG 19.5 GA 64-bit | Intel Xeon 4-core v3 1225 3.20Ghz
    16GB Memory | 500GB SSD HDD | GB Ethernet x5

  • Thanks for your Feedback. If you want to invest more time, it is always helpful to compare it what you are seeing/feeling.

  • I used UTM for about a couple of years and XG since the early adopter version of 18. The XG interface makes a lot more sense to me. They are very different and if you want to use XG you have to be prepared to learn the interface all from scratch and that is going to take a lot more than a couple of hours work. I'm not sure what you were expecting to change in 12 months. The way it is structured hasn't changed and I wouldn't expect it to change much in the future. It isn't UTM and never will be from an interface point of view.
