New XG Two Networks

Hi there

Ive got an existing network with a wireless router. I want to add my new XG Firewall to the setup, with the XG being a secure restricted network and the wireless router being my public IOT device network.

The setup should go like this

Internet > wireless router (public) > wireless XG Firewall (Secure)

How would I go about doing this, cause last time I had an xg I just bridged the router to the XG Firewall...

Cheers Blush

  • Hello,

The best option is using: Internet => Sophos XG => Wireless Router | Restricted Network; This option will give you much more control on what both networks can access.

At last, you should use Firewall Rules to Limit access through both Networks.

    Thanks!

  • Thanks for the response, that sounds great, except I don't want the wireless router network to access the xg or its network for security reasons. Is that where the rules come into play??

  • Exactly, you can separate both Wireless Router and your Internal Network through VLAN's (Or Ports on the Firewall), then you will be able to create Firewall Rules to enforce what's allowed to connect or not through It.
