Hi,
for traffic between your LANs you should have an interVLAN (blasted spellchecker) rule which you apply the security features you wish to use.

Indeed. I'm not relaying only on NGF but from my perspective as Administrator, given example is from FGT - guess u know. And it can inspect CIFS traffic so all smb is under control, so I have a dream that,
some day sophos XG will add such important feature to make life simpler ^^ sure we've got AVs etc. But it's good to have other stages that's protecting our assets.
I'm wonder how UTM is different from XG how many features we miss ;)
Btw I did test rule btw vlans and no malware has been blocked ;)

Calm down, talking like this won't solve anything.
Even then, majority of malware nowadays is transmitted through HTTP(s), if a hacker is hands-on-keyboard inside your network, It won't matter if the Firewall can scan files over CIFS, you would already have bigger issues to solve.

Sure your are right and im " calm downn" <- don't know what's for. Sophs is used for HOME used only im appreciated that it's free with all feature. Jim just mentioning where are unknowns regarding security. ;) I just wanna to make sure that sophos is supporting smb regarding AV scanning, that all i need ;)
