XG Spam reject missing

Hi,

we do first tests with XG Firewalls (18.0.4-MR4) and we miss the option to reject SPAM during the SMTP connection. The only options available are

- warn
- drop
- quarantine
- none

Warn: is ok, but we prefer to reject mails with a permanent error code, so if it  is a false positive, the sender gets an error. It is time wasting to inspect all SPAM mails
drop: is no option! (the XG docs say "Drops the email without notifying the sender.")
Quarantive: same as warn. Customer has to check the mails
None: maybe needed in special cases

It would be very helpful to get this feature like in UTM SG.

    Hi ,

Thank you for reaching out to Sophos Community.

Sophos currently doesn't support your requested feature but values your input into improving the product to best meet our customer’s needs.

We request you to add your vote on the below link.

This would be reviewed by our Product Management Team and would be considered based on various feasibility criteria.

You can enable 'Reject based on IP reputation' under EMail > General settings > SMTP settings

You may also configure email protection in legacy mode to configure the SMTP spam scan policy with reject action.

  • We only recently moved to XG email so are still checking and tweeking.

If you enable SPF check reject and RBL check reject the majority wil not reach the check for spam.  We quarantine the remainder to check for false positives.  It is only a small number when compared to our Puremessage daily quarantine.

With reject you do not see the reason for the reject in the mail log. Yeah you can filter it for the reason. The majority is RBL.
