I am stuck with a pppoe connection

Hello all,

I downloaded the XG VM and now I want to set up a Telekom DSL connection using pppoe over the Sophos. So modem I use a D-Link DSL-321B modem. The modem runs in bridged mode. Now I have read that the Telekom pppoe connection must run on VLAN 7. The modem is connected to its own physical interface of the VM. The interface is in the Sophos XG port 3. that the interface must be tagged on VLAN 7 I ask myself the question, since it is possible in both places, where do I enter the pppoe credentials? I have the option to do it on the physical interface and I have the option to do it on the VLAN. How do I configure the interfaces correctly so that a connection can be established. Currently I get in the log the error: PADO Packet timeout no response from server. Please verify name & ISP link status on modem.

On the modem the line is synchronous and it also shows me the correct values of the line.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

David

  • But did you try this? I think that this setting is for PPPoE VLANS for VDSL, ADSL, ADSL2 and other DSL's if Im read corectly somewhere on forum... Try it do not cost you nothing...

If this will not work then your only option is adding VLAN interface and setup PPPoE on that VLAN interface.

Are you sure that your modem is correctly configured to use with routers? Try connect your PC directly to modem and create PPPoE connection on PC to see if work...
