We have STAS 2.5 installed on member servers and setup as the documentation instructed. However we are noticing that we are having to restart the server nearly daily due to STAS 2.5 eating up all the CPU resources until STAS no longer works, it is still running but just wont pull in any users. We decided to see if it was just those servers so we installed STAS on one of our domain controllers and set it up per the legacy instructions. 1 day later it too had high CPU usage resulting in the need to restart the server to get the service back online.
Domain Controllers are Windows Server 2012 R2
Member Servers are Windows Server 2019.
Any ideas on what is causing the high cpu usage? We have since we started using sophos peaked at around 200 live users. The STAS servers have 4 cores and 16gb of ram assigned to them.
