Issue setting up phone extension to page over Red Tunnel

See we have recently opened another office and the 2 offices are connected by a Sophos Red 60. We have a NEC unit in the main office and a NEC unit in the 2nd office. Neither have anything to do with the other besides us wanting to dial an extension to office 2 and it call via the red tunnel. Right now I have not setup any firewall rules and we can dial an extension but when they pick up at office 2 there is no voice.

office 1 uses VOIP

office 2 has 3 separate phone lines

i guess my issue is I’m not sure how to setup the rules to get this to work.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello Benjamin,

    Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community.

    I suspect there should be some type of Firewall rule, that is why you’re able to dial to the phone behind the RED.

    Most likely you have an ANY Zone to ANY zone firewall rule, however, the rule should look like this: (Modify the Local Zone accordingly)

    Local Zone = LAN Network = Subnets on LAN

    Remote Zone = RED Network = RED Network address 

    And also a reverse one

    Local Zone = RED Network = RED Network Address

    Remote Zone = LAN Network = Subnets on LAN

    So I believe I have identified the issue but I’m not sure how to correct it. When looking at the logs when the call connects its trying to send the audio out the wan interface instead of down the red tunnel. Instead of using the 2 rules I have above its using the rule I have setup for our outgoing PBX server which is below….

    Source Zone: lan

    Source network: pbx

    Destination Zone: wan

    Without this rule we can’t make outgoing calls.

    Hello Benjamin,

    Thank you for the follow-up.

    What mode is the RED deployed? If not in Standard Unified mode, I would suggest you change it to this mode.
