SSL VPN Settings

Are the SSL VPN settings able to be changed without affecting currently deployed SSL VPN users? I'm looking to add a secondary DNS server.

I would do the following: Configure -> VPN -> Show VPN settings -> IPv4 DNS -> <Change secondary to DNS IP> -> Apply

Also, our XG has multiple WAN interfaces. Is the "override hostname" field what decides where clients connect? Can a public IP go in that field or should I use a publicly resolvable hostname?

We're using 18.0.4 MR-4

Thanks in advance.

  • Hello Matthew,

Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community!

You can change the SSL VPN settings without affecting the deployed SSL VPN users, however for them to get the new DNS they would need to disconnect and reconnect.

In the override hostname, you can add the Public IP that you want the SSL VPN to connect to, however after this change is made you need to have the users re-download the SSL VPN configuration.
