Sophos Central Deployment: Host \"{hostname}\" could not be updated

Hello Community,

I deploy many Host-Objects with Sophos Central. The deployment ends with this message:

Sophos Central Deployment: Host \"{hostname}\" could not be updated

When I scroll throught the details I didn't find a corrupted host-Object. Has anybody a hint for me how to find this object?

Thanks,

Ben

  • Hello Ben,

Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community!

Are you able to Skip the transaction? If you are unable to Skip the transaction try in a different browser other than Chrome.

I want to figure out what the this is object is:  Host \"{hostname}\

I cannot find a failed transaction for a host.

  • Hello Ben,

    Thank you for the follow-up.

Could you check if in the firewall there are any other hosts with the same name that Central is trying to push?
(Note: Firewall doesn't allow duplicate names across all tabs in Hosts & Services
e.g. If there’s an IPHost named "FooBar", Firewall won't support the creation of Country Group "FooBar")

If that is true, you’ll have to delete the conflicting host object from Firewall and then retry Central configurations.
