Sophos Central Firewall: Cannot skip transaction

Hello Community,

I'm unable to deploy an user object to my Firewalls the result is a failed transaction. In the past my way to solve the problem is by click on "Skip (Ignore this failture"):

Actually when I do this I receive the error massage "This transaction has failed. Cannot be skipped."

The result is the message "This transaction is obsolete" and transaction stuck on "failed transactions". The problem is new transactions are not executed until the failed transaction is removed from the queue.

Click on "retry" does not. After a while I'm on the begining and I can click "Skip",...

Regards,

Ben

    Hi Ben@Network,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

I tried to replicate the issue, but it’s working for me. I can configure user objects from the Central Firewall Management and push them to the firewall group.

I have two XG firewall running with v18 MR4. What is the firmware version on your firewalls?

Can you click the fAILED message and then click Show More and provide the error detail?

    Thanks,

  • Hello Harsh,

I changed a user account and I saw that the password is not accepted. I changed the password in Central and the 2nd Task stuck in the queue because I can't delete the failed task.

    Thanks,

  • When I click on "Skip" I receive this error in Edge (Windows 10). When I load Sophos Central with Safari on my iPad I'm able to skip the failed tasks.

    Hi Ben@Network,

Could you please create a user with a complex password? I tried to replicate your issue by creating a user with a simple password, and the user object failed.

Try to create a user password with the complexity as per the screenshot below, and let me know if that works for you.

    Thanks,

  • I found my user issue: The password has more then 50 characters. When I use a password with 50 characters I'm able to push it to the firewalls.
